Welcome to the B.P.O. Elks of Effingham, Illinois. With more than 1.1 million
members in more than 2,100 local lodges nationwide, the Elks are one of the
largest and most active fraternal organizations in the world! With around 400
members locally, here in the Effingham area, we are one of the most active
organizations in the Effingham County Area.
National Foundation
"With a grant of $100,000, the Elks National Foundation was established
in 1928 as the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the
Elks. Today, the charitable trust has net assets of more than $360 Million
dollars. Donations to the principal fund are never spent. Only income from the
trust can be used. This year, the foundation appropriated 14.5 million in
support of the Orders philanthropic programs including college scholarships,
"Hoop Shoot", Drug Awareness Program, National Veterans Service Commission, and
the Elks National Home".
